Dr. Botond Simon is a young dental specialist from Hungary. He is also an entrepreneur and an innovator. He is working on a new human identification procedure based on digital dental impression and human palate to help DVI teams to have easier and proper human identification systems. He and his supervisor, Dr. János Vág received the Semmelweis Innovation Award for recognition of their research on forensic odontology. He was third classified of the Science Poster Presentation Section at Digital Dentistry Society Global Meeting 2019 in Baden-Baden, Germany. His topic was “Application of intraoral scanner to identify monozygotic twins”.

He graduated at the University of Debrecen, Hungary, and completed a three-year specialty program in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics at Semmelweis University, Hungary. Now he is a Ph.D. student at Semmelweis University Doctoral School.

Dr. Simon has an international Active Membership of the American Society of Forensic Odontology and the Digital Dentistry Society International. He is a member of the Artificial Intelligent Coalition Hungary, founding member, and vice-president of the Hungarian Association of Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, board member of Digital Dentistry Society Hungary and a member of the Hungarian Dental Association. He is in the Central European University Innovations Lab incubator program as an entrepreneur and team member.

Dr. Simon has been published in scientific journals. Currently, he is doing dental research on twins.
